Folklore - Tel Aviv, King George St
לעיתים את הרעיונות היותר מעניינים אני שואבת ממקורות פחות צפויים. בלב רחוב קינג ג'ורג', לקראת שעות הערב, הבחנתי בקבוצת צעירים לבושים בתלבושות מסורתיות. כמוני - כך גם יתר העוברים והשבים ברחוב הפנו אליהם עיניהם ונעצו בהם מבטיהם. משיחה קצרה עמם התברר שהם רוקדים במסגרת להקת מחול טורקית וכי פקדו את ארצינו זבת החלב והדבש על מנת להופיע בפסטיבל ישראל. קשה היה להתעלם משילוב הצבעים החמים ומההדפסים המתנגשים.In the heart of King George at twilight, I noticed a group of young people dressed in traditional outfits. The passers by directed their gazes toward them and stared, as did I. A short conversation with them revealed that they were members of a Turkish dance ensemble and that their presence in the land of milk and honey bore the purpose of participating in the Israel Festival. It was difficult to ignore the combination of warm colours and the conflicting patterns. o

לבושה של עלמת החן הזו מסמל בעיני את כל מה שטוב בקיץ התל אביבי. הצבע, הגזרה והנפח בחלקה התחתון הופכים את השמלה למושלמת כשבחוץ משתולל השרב.This fair maiden's dress sense symbolises, in my eyes, all that is good about summer in Tel Aviv. The colour, the cut and the volume of the lower half render this the perfect dress as the heat rages outside. o
